International Awarded Long Awaited Order for 1200 MRAP Vehicles

The US Marine Corp Systems Command issued a new order for the procurement of 1,200 Mine Resistant Ambush Protected (MRAP CAT I) 4x4 vehicles, to be produced by International Military and Government LLC (IMG) of Warrenville, Ill. This is the largest single order for MRAP issued so far, worth slightly over $623 million. All vehicles are scheduled for delivery by February 2008. International is one of the largest truck manufacturer in the US market. For the armor design the company joined forces with Plasan Sasa from Israel, which also developed an armor suite for IMG's MXT vehicle. Plasan has already provided armor suites for several vehicles operated by the USMC, including the MTVR truck and LVSR trucks, both produced by Oshkosh
