First Place Winner in Best Development of Armoured Vehicle Survivability
Plasan Wins First Place for Design and Development of the Lockheed Martin AVA™ Cab
Plasan, a world leader in development, integration and production of ballistic protection and
crew survival, today announced last night’s first place award for best development in the field of
armoured vehicle survivability as part of the annual international conference in LMAV (Light &
Medium Armoured Vehicles) in London. Plasan’s candidate was the body of the Lockheed Martin
AVA™.
The award was presented to Plasan for the unique design and development of this cab, its survivability and
modularity, and its features that place the soldier at the centre.
Plasan’s CEO, Dani Ziv, said "This award again demonstrates how Plasan's involvement from the beginning of
the design process achieves superior protection and survivability results. With the AVA™, Plasan and Lockheed
Martin have created an armoured vehicle that balances performance, payload and protection. The innovations
contained within it raise the expectations of what was believed to be possible from a light armoured vehicle.”
Plasan received the award at the conclusion of the three-day international conference on ballistic protection
technologies for vehicles (which took place on February 3rd-5th) where world-leading protection technologies
companies from around the globe presented cutting edge developments in the area of vehicle protection.
